The Tale of Jeter Gray Fox

Book One — Lost Fables of Appalachia

Meet Jeter Gray Fox—the lesser-known, tree-climbing fox of Appalachia and one of the forest’s greatest tricksters. When an irresistible craving for chicken sends Jeter on a mission to Old Ben’s farm, he recruits Basil Red Fox to help him pull off the perfect plan.

But Jeter has a few tricks up his sleeve—and some remarkable abilities unique to gray foxes. As the two foxes set off on their adventure, they’ll discover that in the Appalachian woods, not everything is as it seems.

Filled with humor, hand-drawn illustrations, and native Appalachian wildlife, The Tale of Jeter Gray Fox is the first book in The Lost Fables of Appalachia.
